New York City Department of Youth and Community Development

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) funds a wide range of high-quality youth and community development programs to help the young people of New York City and their families. Applicants apply for programs, such as After School, Community Development, and Family Support, through community-based organizations (CBOs) that are active in New York City. To verify their eligibility for these programs, clients are required to provide supporting documentation.

Diona collaborated with DYCD to implement a mobile solution to help process applications for City-funded programs. Young New Yorkers and CBOs upload supporting documentation in support of program applications using Diona Uploads. Additionally, the Diona Data Manager provides a mechanism for both CBO and DYCD staff to review and action these supporting documents related to client applications. This solution allows DYCD clients to provide documentation without an office visit and facilitates DYCD staff performing their role as reviewers of eligibility documentation without having to travel to CBO offices to review paper documents.
